Lever-operated butterfly valve

FGR-PVH-010 Pumps, valves and hydraulics

Rubber-seated butterfly valve, PN10/16

A quarter-turn valve with a disc rotating on a central stem inside a rubber-lined body, used to isolate or throttle water and general process lines.

Overview

Concentric rubber-seated butterfly valves are short, light and economical compared with gate or ball valves of the same size, which makes them common on water, HVAC and process pipework. Selection depends on the size and pressure rating, the flange drilling and body style (wafer or lug), the seat elastomer for the medium and temperature, the disc and stem materials, and the operator (lever, gearbox or actuator).

Typical applications

  • Water distribution and treatment pipework
  • Pump suction and discharge isolation
  • Cooling water and HVAC circuits
  • General industrial process lines
