Industry

Agriculture and agribusiness

Farms, co-operatives and agri-processors run equipment that has to cope with dust, seasonal peaks and long distances from the nearest workshop. Buying decisions often turn on robustness, local serviceability and the availability of wear parts.

Buying considerations

Seasonal timing
Lead times for imported equipment can run to several months. Plan around planting and harvest so equipment arrives before it is needed.
Dust and moisture
Specify enclosure (IP) ratings for motors and panels, and ask how bearings and seals are protected in dusty or wet conditions.
Wear parts
Hammers, screens, belts and impellers wear quickly. Ask for a recommended spares list with part numbers when you request a quote.

Include in your request

  • Throughput per hour and hours per day
  • Material handled and moisture content
  • Power available on site, or whether a generator is needed
