Overview
Troughed belt conveyors run a rubber belt over sets of angled idler rollers that form the belt into a trough, increasing carrying capacity and containing loose material. A motor and reducer drive the head pulley, with a tail pulley and take-up keeping the belt tensioned. They are sized mainly by belt width, belt speed and conveying length to deliver a required tonnage per hour.
