Low-voltage variable frequency drive

An electronic AC drive that varies the frequency and voltage supplied to an induction motor to control its speed and torque.

  • Specification confirmed with the OEM before you order
  • Warranty and support set out in your quotation
  • Freight to your site or port available

Overview

A variable frequency drive rectifies the incoming AC supply to a DC bus and then inverts it to a variable-frequency output using IGBT switching. Matching motor speed to process demand saves energy on pumps and fans, provides soft starting and enables precise speed or torque control. Low-voltage drives for 380-480 V three-phase supplies are the most common industrial type.

Typical applications

  • Pump and fan speed control
  • Conveyor and mixer drives
  • Soft starting of motors
  • Energy saving on variable-load equipment
