Overview
A flameproof (Ex d / Ex db) motor has an enclosure built to contain an internal ignition and stop flame escaping into the surrounding atmosphere. Selection depends on the hazardous-area zone, gas group and temperature class, the motor rating and supply, and whether the equipment certification is recognised for use at the site.
