Overview
Roots blowers use two counter-rotating lobed rotors that do not touch, moving a fixed volume of air per revolution against the system pressure. Three-lobe rotors reduce pulsation and noise compared with two-lobe designs. Selection depends on the required air volume, discharge pressure, drive speed and motor power, together with silencing and inlet filtration.
