Electromagnetic flow meter, a flanged full-bore sensor with mounted transmitter head installed in a pipeline

FGR-EIC-002 Electrical and instrumentation

Electromagnetic flow meter

Full-bore electromagnetic flow meter for conductive liquids in closed pipelines, with 4-20 mA, pulse and RS485 outputs.

  • Specification confirmed with the OEM before you order
  • Warranty and support set out in your quotation
  • Freight to your site or port available

Overview

Electromagnetic flow meters apply Faraday's law of induction: a conductive liquid moving through a magnetic field generates a voltage across electrodes that is proportional to flow velocity. With no moving parts or flow obstructions, they suit water, wastewater, slurries and many corrosive or hygienic liquids, provided the fluid meets a minimum conductivity. Liner and electrode materials are chosen to match the process medium.

Typical applications

  • Water and sewage flow measurement
  • Slurry and pulp flow metering
  • Chemical dosing and process liquid flow
  • Custody and process monitoring in closed pipelines
