Overview
Cast-resin dry-type transformers avoid the fire and leak risks of oil, so they are often installed inside buildings, basements and plant rooms. Selection depends on the kVA rating, voltages, losses, insulation class, enclosure and ventilation, and whether forced-air cooling fans are needed for overload capacity.
