Overview
Jacketed reactors combine a process vessel, a heating or cooling jacket and an agitator so that batches can be mixed and held at controlled temperature. They are used for chemical reactions, dissolving, emulsifying and cooking. Selection depends on working volume, vessel and jacket materials and pressure ratings, heating method (electric, steam or thermal oil), agitator type and speed range, shaft seal and discharge arrangement.
