Overview

Double-wall (often called SF) fuel tanks place a fibreglass-reinforced outer skin around a steel primary tank, leaving an interstitial space that can be monitored for leaks. They are widely used underground at fuel stations and depots where secondary containment is required. Selection depends on capacity, burial or above-ground installation, wall materials and thicknesses, leak-detection method and compliance with local fuel-storage regulations.

Typical applications

  • Fuel station diesel and petrol storage
  • Generator and plant fuel depots
  • Mine and construction site fuel storage
  • Fleet refuelling facilities
