Overview
A decanter centrifuge spins a cylindrical-conical bowl at high speed while an internal screw conveyor rotates at a slightly different speed, pushing settled solids to one end and discharging clarified liquid at the other. It runs continuously and is widely used for sludge dewatering, process clarification and product recovery. Two-phase (solid-liquid) and three-phase (solid-liquid-liquid) configurations exist.
