Overview
Closed-circuit cooling towers combine sensible and evaporative heat transfer across a coil, so the cooled fluid never contacts the atmosphere and fouling of the process equipment is reduced. Selection depends on fluid flow and temperatures, design wet-bulb temperature, coil material for the fluid in use, and whether dry operation is wanted in cold or low-load conditions.
